We've returned from
Montisi full of the dolce vita and pleased to announce that we
can take a few more people with us each week for the Y2Knit Experience
Tuscany: Sep 27-Oct 4, 2008 and
Oct 4-11, 2008.
We have acquired some additional
lodging about 1/2 block from the Villa Maddalena at
La Romita.
Jill and I will be staying in the same complex at La Romita, which has
several rooms, each with their own bathroom and outside entrance. The walk
to the Villa Maddalena will take about 3 minutes at
a leisurely pace unless you stop at one of the cafe/bars on the
way, which is very tempting!
The complex we are staying
in also houses an olive press. It will be olive harvesting season, so
there will be a hum after about 7:30 am, but it's over mid-afternoon. They
make olive oil gelato, which Alberto assures us is one of the most
delicious taste treats we'll have!
Montisi is fabulous and
there's much to do there. We've
decided to stay in Montisi, with no day trips, to fully enjoy the slower
pace. We will experience wine
tasting, olive oil tasting and
making tour, an art walk and knitting
in public on the local piazzas. We'll
also venture out to the two fabulous restaurants in the village,
both of which feature "Slow Food"--locally grown, organic and delicious!
We're doing some pre-knitting, that is,
working on a project prior to travel, but we can easily get you up to
speed on that. The main project doesn't start until May. All of this is
taking place through postings online and you will be provided all the
information you need to participate.
If you want to join
us, you can let us know by April
30 and secure your spot with a $250 deposit that would be great. We
need the $1700 balance by
June 30. This is an incredible deal!
If you can't make this one, we're
returning Sep 26-Oct3 and Oct 3-10, 2009. You can sign up now
to guarantee a space. The price has not been set but it will be more
due to the exchange rate.
