I had been struggling with continental knitting for the
past year. I purchased your book and after 25 minutes of your clear
concise directions I not only was knitting continentally I was picking up
speed. Thank you so much for taking the fear out of continental for
me, and doing it in such a easy to read format. I love your writing
style. I am bookmarking your site. I am now a picker!!!!
(a few days later)
I
just wanted you to know that I am purling, without pain, and without
mistakes, and with confidence.

Thank you for writing
YNotKnit. I have been trying to do the purl continental style for years
with no success. It was awkward and slow going with my stitches coming
out crossed more times than not. Your instructions were so clear and
simple that I am now purling almost as quickly and easily as knitting. I
was so excited that I made a whole sweater in K2P2 ribbing!

Thank you for writing YNotKnit! It is exactly
what I needed to start knitting again. I stopped knitting 3 years ago, in
part because I found English knitting so cumbersome, I constantly felt like
all my fingers were playing twister. Continental knitting is so much easier
and quicker. I had thought it would be difficult to get used to knitting
differently, but I picked it up immediately. The illustrations and
instructions in the book are very easy to follow, even for someone with no
knitting experience at all. I also really appreciated the combination of
exercises, to practice techniques, and patterns for actual projects. The
commentary from the authors is also entertaining - the entire tone of the
book is humorous and encourages knitting as a relaxing and meditative
pastime. I am already awaiting a sequel with more complicated projects and
troubleshooting advice.

The illustrations are fabulous and
show me step-by-step what to do. I've never seen a knitting book with
such great illustrations.

I want you to know I have been wishing to
write a book exactly like this (but now don't have to). . .your book is
so-o-o complete you must have had a good time putting it together, and the
art work is perfect.

I have been looking for a good manual on the
“continental” method for ages and am excited to discover this new 100
page+ book.

I have read the book and my
daughter volunteered to try the Continental. As a left-hander
and being 11, she loves it!

The sister act behind Funkstown, Maryland's
Y2Knit has produced this spiral-bound guide to Continental knitting.
Big illustrations accompany step-by-steps; the chapters conclude with
appropriate projects; and the Wolcotts inject the instruction with lively
asides and long-earned advice.

I just wanted to say how much my sister
enjoyed using your YNotKnit book that I had you send her. She is now on the
road to continental knitting bliss! She said she took right too it and her
knitting square looks so much better then anything she had been doing!

What I was most excited about by the book
when I first received it was the visuals. The images in the book, while not
being photographs but instead black and white drawings, are clear and
concise, possibly some of the most clear I’ve ever seen. I was easily able
to understand the basic movements of continental knitting and the steps it
required. Kelly Gilliam,
