Funkstown Bridge Detour |
The one way bridge into Funkstown on Oak
Ridge Drive will be closed for several months, beginning August 19, 2008, while
needed repairs are made. If this impacts your trip to Y2Knit,
please read on for suggested alternate routes. None of these
alternatives are complicated!
|
The county will have a detour from Rt 65
and Oak Ridge (where the Sheetz is, close to the Prime Outlets) that
takes you to Wilson Blvd where you will turn left. Wilson Blvd ends at
Route 40/Frederick Ave (Food Lion on corner) and you turn right.
Continue up the hill, down the hill and across the two lane bridge into
Funkstown. At the light, turn left and go two blocks to Y2Knit.
This detour will add a few minutes and about 2 mile to your trip.

If you are on 70 heading east or entering
70 from 81, don't get off at 29B, rather continue to the next exit, 32B, which takes
you onto 40 West. Get in the left lane and then the left turn lane
at before the light. Turn left and go to the next light, turn right.
You’ll find Y2Knit on the right
at the first intersection, the corner of High and Baltimore. Turn right
onto High - parking is in the rear. This detour will
add a couple of minutes and about 4 mile to your trip.

| If you are coming from Shepherdstown or
Sharpsburg and want to take the scenic route,
go through Boonsboro or
take Lappan's Rd (turn right) to get to Alt 40. |
