It's almost time for Fall Y2Knit Knitting Getaway Events.
Pick one near you and take advantage of these wonderful
opportunities to relax, learn, renew and connect.
October 1-3 Y2Knit will return to Four Springs Retreat
for a Knitting Getaway Weekend. We've had a terrific response to
this, but a bed or two may still be available, so please call to
check with us if you are interested. The topic is Slip Stitches
and Color and we have workshops, yoga, great food, and massage
planned for the weekend. The weather is always great at Four
Springs this time of year.
October 22-23 "We're Knitting in Funkstown." Jill is
heading east for two days of workshops. Friday workshops will
help you with new ideas for projects. Consider Slip Stitches
for a new technique that can add versatility to your
knitting and as a way to add texture. Use That Yarn is a
great opportunity to get advice on what to do with yarn in your
stash or a pattern you've not been able to match to yarn. And
Ball to Shawl provides you with everything you'll need to
create fabulous shawls from novelty yarns- for yourself or for
gifts.
Saturday kicks off with What to Knit, a discussion and
evaluation of style and fit for choosing the right garments to
make. Y2Knit-to- Fit moves into the hands-on figuring to
put the theory into practice in working with this new pattern
format. Bring it all together with Techniques for Fit, a
hands-on class to give you tips and tricks.
We head to Shelburne, Vermont for 5 days of Embellishments. Read
on for more about this Y2Knit Knitting Getaway Experience.

October in Vermont |
 |
|
Susan just returned from a few days at Heart of the Village
Inn in Shelburne, VT, the site of the Y2Knit Knitting
Getaway Experience October 27-31. The Inn is fabulous,
the setting relaxing, and Innkeeper Pat Button is the
perfect hostess. Steps away from the Inn are charming shops,
including the Shelburne Country Store, which has something
for everyone.
Across the street is the Town Hall where the Y2Knit
workshops and yoga sessions will take place. It's an
inspiring atmosphere, as are the workshops: Buttons, Bands
and Buttonholes; Crochet and I-cord; Bows and Florals;
Special Cast Ons and Bind Offs; Glitz, Glitter and Beads;
Applique, Embroidery and Duplicate Stitch;Button Making; and
Button Bracelets.
We still have spaces, though not many, so please register
soon if you'd like to attend this event. Rooms are private
or double, with their own bathrooms, and each with its own
charm. If you live in the area, and would like to
participate in the workshops only or participate in the
event as a day attendee, let us know as we can accomodate
both.

Pass Knit On |
 |
|
Pass Knit On, Y2Knit's course for knitting teachers, was a
huge success. It seemed that everyone went away more
confident and clearer about the approach they wanted to take
to teaching knitting, whether in the workplace, a yarn shop,
or as an independent contractor.
There is such a great demand for people to teach knitting
that we'll continue to offer Pass Knit On. Let us know if
you are interested or to suggest a location for 2005. We
believe that teaching is more than knowing how to knit and
this course provides that "more."
