We're pleased to publish
Cables and Zip Raglan Cardigan. This sweater, designed
by Galina Fedtchenko, is knit up in
Cestari 2-ply wool, a washable wool that blooms when you
wash it. The sheep and shepherds of Cestari are found in
Augusta Springs, VA. This amazing wool sells for $6 a skein,
making the sweater an inexpensive one to knit. The
symmetrical cables and top down design keep interest and
make this project flow quickly.
This month we also have the long awaited
Eastern Lace, another design from Galina. This
flattering lace pullover has been ingeniously designed to
look like a wrapped cardigan, while eliminating the fuss of
keeping the wrap in place. The pattern requires attention,
but all shaping instructions are written out to make it easy
to follow. Stitch pattern charts are also included. Knit in
Bamboo (yes, it's really bamboo), this sweater has
beautiful drape and wearability.
Jill designed
Lattice Lace Versatile Wrap. This versatile piece can be
worn folded as a scarf or draped around the shoulders for a
shawl. Pull up the I-cord to make a romantic capelet, or tie
it around the top of pants or a skirt for a high fashion
look. We knit it up in Schaefer Yarns handpainted cotton.
One hank is sufficient.
Another pattern from Jill is
Fan Bag, knit in
Provence. Make a statement with this fan-shaped summer
handbag featuring wooden handles and a firm bottom. You add
the embellishments that define your unique look. This bag,
along with Shapely Felted Bag, are the bags for the upcoming

patchwork and miters, and short rows. We have five days of
workshops with a weekend option.
As with all Y2Knit Knitting Getaways, we balance all the
knitting with massage, yoga, good food, and the opportunity
to enjoy nature. The connections we make others and the
renewal and inspiration that result make every minute worth
it. We hope you can join us!
