Expect to learn, have fun, be inspired, and find new ways to
enhance your knitting while connecting with other knitters.
Two days of progressive workshops focus on techniques for
project success through hands-on learning creating swatches
and samplers. Jill and Susan Wolcott bring a wealth of
knitting experience—each sharing their point-of-view and
techniques, so you can pick two brains!
Friday, March 31
10:00-12:00
Learn three methods to cast on and their application; tips
for reading and understanding stitch patterns as you work
with two shifting stitch patterns; and how to count stitches
and rows and why gauge matters.
1:30-4:30
First learn how to execute and use paired increases and
decreases; move on to yarn overs and manipulating stitches
as you learn how to work basic cables and simple lace
patterns; end the day with three methods to bind off.
Saturday, April 1
10:00-12:00
Learn how to do basic slip stitches and to work color into
your knitting with 2-color slip stitches, which don’t
involve complicated color changes and yarn tangles. We’ll
also cover techniques for knitting in the round, including
working slip stitch patterns in circular knitting.
1:30-4:30
The icing on the cake is finishing techniques. Learn basic
seaming techniques, how to pick up stitches, edgings
(including the wonders of I-cord), and joining without
seaming. Finish with how to handle ends smoothly.
