Happy New Year! This is such a great time of year for knitting--long
evenings and cooler weather. Also a good time to think about a
Y2Knit Knitting Getaway!
January's Free
Pattern of the Month is complete instructions on making pom poms. In the
stores, pom poms seem to be embellishing almost everything, especially
scarves, bags, shoes and hats.

The
Joie de Vivre Shell and Shawl make an elegant sweater set
alternative. The shawl has a collar which helps it sit comfortably
around your neck and the gentle shaping in the shell make it flattering.
The shell is worked so there is virtually no finishing.

success through hands-on learning creating swatches and samplers. Jill
and Susan Wolcott bring a wealth of knitting experience— each sharing
their point-of-view and techniques, so you can pick two brains!
Friday, March 31

Learn three methods to cast on and their application; tips for reading
and understanding stitch patterns as you work with two shifting stitch
patterns; and how to count stitches and rows and why gauge matters.
1:30-4:30
First learn how to execute and use paired increases and decreases; move
on to yarn overs and manipulating stitches as you learn how to work
basic cables and simple lace patterns; end the day with three methods to
bind off.
Saturday, April 1
10:00-12:00

the round, including working slip stitch patterns in circular knitting.
1:30-4:30
The icing on the cake is finishing techniques. Learn basic seaming
