Our
friends at
Modern Yarn should create a T-shirt that says, "I survived
TNNA"!
We had a wonderful time at our trade show, but the recovery time
always surprises us. It is a busy weekend of selling, buying and
observing. Susan taught a class and Jill worked on and had an
entry, Winter Ball, in the fashion show.
We look forward to seeing friends from past shows and making
business connections and new friends. We laughed with some very
funny shop owners who came to our booth.
Best of all, we got to buy yarn! Our favorite pics for this coming
season, in no particular order:
 | New colors of
Malabrigo and their lace weight yarn in the same yummy colors
|
 | Suri alpaca from
Frog Tree |
 | O-Wool organic wool in Worsted and Sport weights, and Balance,
a wool/cotton blend, both from
Vermont Fiber Company. This is in the shop already and getting
fondled a lot! |
 | Cool new sock yarns from
Skacel. We loved learning that Zitron (Trekking, Lifestyle,
Artfelt and many other great yarns) is a solar powered factory.
Awesome! We got Trekking Naked--sock yarn ready for home
dyeing--so you know what we're doing (not getting naked but
getting colored!) |

Cascade debuted their new handpaint colors, which will arrive
in August along with new colors of 220 to go with them. New
colors of Fixation will arrive next week! |
 |
Neighborhood Fiber Company is one of our new best friends.
Karida dyes yarn in lovely colors and names them after DC
neighborhoods. Check out our blog to see what Susan did with a
skein of the Victorian Bulky.

 | We wanted to find some fun new "gadgets" and our favorite is
the mini crochet hook (about 3 inches long) for picking up
stitches. We'll sell those online as soon as they are in as we
don't think you can have too many. What a handy thing to have! |

Update on Tuscany
|
We've added a week! The
Villa Maddalena is almost filled for the week of October 4-11,
2008, so we were able to reserve the Villa for September
27-October 4, 2008. We'll have two great weeks. Register for the
one that works best with your schedule, but don't wait too long or
we won't have room!
