Experience at Four Springs, Sep 28-Oct 2. Experience the
joy of color as you learn to master such techniques as
intarsia (argyle), entrelac, fair isle, domino and modular,
patchwork and miters, and short rows. We have five days of
workshops with a weekend option.
WEDNESDAY ~ Two-Color Knitting: Learn to "pick"
yarn or to throw with the right hand, then combine the
methods for two-handed color knitting. ~ Backwards Knitting:
Work back and forth without turning your knitting-perfect
for the small number of stitches in entrelac and borders.
THURSDAY ~ Intarsia (argyle): A few techniques can
make your intarsia beautiful and even, despite bobbins and
tangles. ~ Fair Isle: Apply two-handed color knitting and
practice chart knitting.
FRIDAY ~ Entrelac: Apply backwards knitting, then
add geometry and color for a fabulous woven look (the
geometry is already done for you!) Weekend only participants
may attend this workshop for an additional fee
SATURDAY A smorgasbord of structure and color: ~
Domino & Modular: Methods that work small pieces, constantly
building on each other, toward a major finish ~ Patchwork &
Mitered: Pieces are built then seamed together ~ Short Rows:
Add color by only working partial rows for some surprising
results.
SUNDAY ~ Putting It All Together: Learn how to use
these color techniques together to create an artistic and
fashionable project
As with all Y2Knit Knitting Getaways, we balance all the
knitting with massage, yoga, good food, and the opportunity
to enjoy nature. The connections we make with others and the
renewal and inspiration that result make every minute worth
it. We hope you can join us! |

Jill and Susan are buying yarn at the trade show in
June--we'll be looking for new and exciting things,
including Karaoke, a new self striping soy and wool blend
from Southwest Trading Company. We've heard it felts
beautifully and is very soft!
Spring is here and summer is around the corner. Don't
stop knitting just because winter is behind us! Knitting is
a great stress reducer, lowering heart rate and blood
pressure. In addition to the healthy benefits of knitting,
you receive the satisfying and rewarding results of an
attractive and useful finished product. It can't be beat for
passing time when you're a passenger.
Join us for Knitting Night, 7:00- 9:00pm, 2nd and
4th Fridays. Get together with other knitters to knit and
chat. This informal gathering provides an opportunity to get
to know others who love to knit too and to knit in a
supportive environment.
