Y2Knit is sisters
Jill and Susan Wolcott. The Y2Knit sisters have another sister, Sally
Wolcott, a breast cancer survivor. That's why we like pink and why we
may choose products to sell that generate proceeds for breast cancer
awareness.
In the Funkstown area, where the Y2Knit shop is located,
Y2Knit is active in supporting the Breast
Cancer Awareness of Cumberland Valley. Recent projects include
knitting scarves which are sold in area shops to raise money and donating
purses to the annual purse auction. We're working on various styles of
chemo hats too.
Jill and Susan have designed two "chemo caps"--Soft
Tops. For every pattern sold, $2.00 is donated to breast cancer
awareness organizations.
We're proud to be a sponsor of
The National NeedleArts
Association's Stitch to Win Against Breast Cancer, a fundraising effort.
We're also part of the
Sister Study, a breast cancer
research study through the National Institute of Environmental Health
Sciences, NIH and DHHS. We urge anyone who has a sister who has/had
breast cancer to consider joining this important study of the causes of
breast cancer. "Woman by woman, sister by sister, we can make a
difference."
